Ashcliff

About the Property

Ashcliff is a wonderful historic property in the picturesque village of Bonchurch, one of the oldest settlements on the Isle of Wight, with a Norman church in which services are still held. Built in the early 19th century Ashcliff was the home of Elizabeth Missing Sewell for 60 years, a local author whose brother founded Radley College Oxford and another who became the first Prime Minister of New Zealand. Ashcliff’s abundant gardens, with lovely views over the English Channel, are home to a wide range of interesting plants. Guests are welcome to enjoy the full extent of the grounds and also to bring pets, the only www.rentamanor.com property available on this basis making it ideal for members of groups wishing to take part in group celebrations, meals etc., at the larger rentamanor.com properties on the Island which unfortunately are unable to accept pets in the house or grounds. Picturesque, peaceful and secluded, perfect for one or two adults, sorry no young children, looking for their own self contained bolthole just 10 minutes walk from the beach with the most wonderful sea and countryside walks.
